1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the following parts:a. Sunroof seaming welt (with sunroof system) (See SUNROOF UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)b. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)c. Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)d. Front map light (See MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)e. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)f. Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)g. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)h. Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)i. B-pillar lower trim (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)j. Adjust anchor cover (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)k. Upper anchor installation bolt on the seat belt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)l. B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)m. 3. Remove the rear vent duct. (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Set the selector lever component aside. (ATX) (Except mexico) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Set the shift lever component aside. (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)
6. To prevent damage to the headliner, spread a cloth at the position shown in the figure.
7. Disconnect the roof wiring harness connector and remove the roof wiring harness connector clip from the body.
8. Affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.
9. Temporarily install the seaming welt shown in the figure to the headliner.CAUTION:
If fasteners are removed without temporarily installing the seaming welt, the headliner may fall off and the part may be damaged. Before removing fasteners, temporarily install the seaming welt to prevent the headliner from falling off.
10. Remove fasteners.
11. Partially peel back the seaming welt. Take the headliner out from the opened passenger-side door opening.
12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
