DC-DC CONVERTER [i-ELOOP]

Purpose, Function

The DC-DC converter supplies the electricity supplied from the capacitor (i-ELOOP) to the vehicle’s electrical devices.

If the electricity supplied from the capacitor (i-ELOOP) exceeds the rated voltage of an electrical device, the DC-DC converter lowers the voltage to 12 V and then supplies the electricity to the electrical devices.

Construction

The DC-DC converter is installed directly under the front seat (LH).

The DC-DC converter has the following inputs/outputs.


Terminal signal	Input/output
3A	Power is input from capacitor (i-ELOOP). Power is output to capacitor (i-ELOOP). (Pre-charge)
4A	Power is output to battery and electrical device. Power is input from battery. (Pre-charge)
1A	CAN communication
1B	GND
1C	CAN communication
1D	GND
1E	Temperature sensor signal input from capacitor (i-ELOOP).
1G	The by-pass relay on signal from the PCM is input.
1H	Battery power via IG1 relay is input.
1I	The by-pass relay on signal from the PCM is input.

The DC-DC converter switches the operation content according to the vehicle conditions. Refer to “i-ELOOP” for details. (See i-ELOOP [i-ELOOP].)

Fail-safe


DTC	Fail-safe
P0A12:00	Depending on the type of malfunction, any of the following controls may be implemented. Transition to i-ELOOP bypass mode. i-ELOOP bypass mode inhibited.
P0A94:00	The following fail-safe differ depending on the type of malfunction Transition to i-ELOOP bypass mode. i-ELOOP bypass mode inhibited.
