2014 - Mazda6 - I-ELOOP

CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [i-ELOOP]

Procedure Before i-ELOOP-Related Part Servicing

WARNING:

Cautions On Handling Capacitor (i-ELOOP)

CAUTION:

Capacitor (i-ELOOP) Removal/Installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the front under cover No.1. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Set the front mud guard (LH) aside as shown in the figure. (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4. Disconnect the service plug. (See SERVICE PLUG DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [i-ELOOP].)
5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
7. When disposing of the capacitor (i-ELOOP), perform compulsory discharge of the capacitor before disposal. (See CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) COMPULSORY DISCHARGE [i-ELOOP].)
8. If the capacitor (i-ELOOP) is replaced with a new one, idle the engine to charge the capacitor.

Capacitor (i-ELOOP) installation note
1. When replacing a capacitor (i-ELOOP) with a new one, remove the short-wire installed to the new capacitor.
