WARNING:
If the terminal of one of the i-ELOOP-related parts contacts the vehicle body with the service plug of the capacitor connected, it could cause a fire and damage to electrical parts. In addition, if the terminal contacts your body, it could cause electrocution. Disconnect the service plug of the capacitor before disconnecting the i-ELOOP-related part terminal. (See SERVICE PLUG DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [i-ELOOP].)
For the i-ELOOP-related part terminals, refer to the “PROCEDURE BEFORE i-ELOOP-RELATED PART SERVICING”. (See PROCEDURE BEFORE i-ELOOP-RELATED PART SERVICING [i-ELOOP].)
CAUTION:
If the capacitor (i-ELOOP) is placed on its side, its function may be lost. When storing/transporting the capacitor, do not place it on its side. (Store/transport in upright position)
Do not use a capacitor (i-ELOOP) that has been dropped because it may not operate correctly.
When disposing of the capacitor (i-ELOOP), perform compulsory discharge of the capacitor before disposal. (See CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) COMPULSORY DISCHARGE [i-ELOOP].)
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the front under cover No.1. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Set the front mud guard (LH) aside as shown in the figure. (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Disconnect the service plug. (See SERVICE PLUG DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [i-ELOOP].)
5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
7. When disposing of the capacitor (i-ELOOP), perform compulsory discharge of the capacitor before disposal. (See CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) COMPULSORY DISCHARGE [i-ELOOP].)
8. If the capacitor (i-ELOOP) is replaced with a new one, idle the engine to charge the capacitor.NOTE:
A warning message is displayed in the instrument cluster while the capacitor is charging. Continue idling the engine until the warning message no longer appears.

1. When replacing a capacitor (i-ELOOP) with a new one, remove the short-wire installed to the new capacitor.
NOTE:
Dispose of the removed short-wire and nuts as they are unnecessary.
