VERIFY DTCs

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-G 2.5])

(See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE [FW6A-EL])

(See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER])

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY MALFUNCTION CONDITION
  • Verify the current display condition of the LCD.

  • Does the i-ELOOP-related gauge in the LCD operate?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 4.

ASK CUSTOMER
  • Was the ambient temperature low when the symptom occurred?

Yes

Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to assure battery power supply.

No

Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to prioritize battery charging.

VERIFY BYPASS MODE OPERATION CONDITION
  • Display PID BYPS_STAT using the M-MDS data logger function.

  • Is BYPS_STAT display "Bypass On"?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the instrument cluster and replace it if there is any malfunction.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION)

VERIFY CAUSE OF BYPASS MODE OPERATION
  • Display PID DCDC_OUT_I using the M-MDS data logger function.

  • Is “DCDC_OUT_I“ value 50 A or more?

Yes

Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate because of the vehicle electrical load.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY AMBIENT TEMPERATURE
  • Display PID AMB_TEMP using the M-MDS data logger function.

  • Is “AMB_TEMP” value less than 0 °C {32 °F}?

Yes

Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to assure battery power supply.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY BATTERY CHARGE CONDITION
  • Display PID BATT_SOC using the M-MDS data logger function.

  • Is “BATT_SOC” value less than 65%?

Yes

Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to prioritize battery charging.

No

Inspect the instrument cluster and replace it if there is any malfunction.
