CAUTION:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the rear combination light. (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the rear splash shield. (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove screw A.
5. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver under the cover shown in the figure and remove the cover in the direction of the arrow (1).
6. Remove screws B.
7. Remove fasteners C.
8. Pull the edge of the rear bumper in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure, then remove tabs D.CAUTION:
The rear bumper and rear bumper slider are engaged firmly. If they are disengaged forcibly the bumper could fall and be damaged. Perform the servicing carefully when disengaging the rear bumper from the rear bumper slider.
When disengaging the rear bumper from the rear bumper slider, the rear bumper could fall and be damaged. Support the front bumper so that it does not fall.
9. Remove the rear bumper in the direction of the arrow (3) shown in the figure.
10. Disconnect the rear ultrasonic sensor connector. (with parking sensor system)
11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
12. If the rear bumper is replaced, perform the blind spot monitoring radar aiming. (with blind spot monitoring system)CAUTION:
If the rear bumper installation position is changed or individual differences (coating film/thickness) occur, the blind spot monitoring control module radar angle will deviate which could result in the module not detecting a vehicle approaching from the rear correctly. If the rear bumper is replaced, perform the blind spot monitoring radar aiming.
