Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Action

1

VERIFY FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) DTCs AGAIN

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 11.

2

INSPECT PARKING/FRONT SIDE MARKER/FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB (LH) (WITHOUT DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM)/FRONT SIDE MARKER/FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB (LH) (WITH DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM)
  • Inspect the following bulb.

    • Parking/front side marker/front turn light bulb (LH) (Without discharge headlight system)

    • Front side marker/front turn light bulb (LH) (With discharge headlight system)

  • Is the bulb normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the bulb, then go to Step 10.

(See PARKING/FRONT SIDE MARKER/FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITHOUT DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM].)

(See FRONT SIDE MARKER/FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM].)

3

INSPECT PARKING/FRONT SIDE MARKER/FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB (RH) (WITHOUT DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM)/FRONT SIDE MARKER/FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB (RH) (WITH DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM)
  • Inspect the following bulb.

    • Parking/front side marker/front turn light bulb (RH) (Without discharge headlight system)

    • Front side marker/front turn light bulb (RH) (With discharge headlight system)

4

INSPECT FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) CONNECTOR
  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

  • Disconnect the front body control module (FBCM) connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 10.

5

INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) CONNECTOR
  • Disconnect the front combination light (LH) connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 10.

6

INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (RH) CONNECTOR
  • Disconnect the front combination light (RH) connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 10.

7

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND IN PARKING/FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHT CONTROL CIRCUIT
  • Verify that the front body control module (FBCM), front combination light (LH) and front combination light (RH) connectors are disconnected.

  • Inspect for continuity between front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J (wiring harness-side) and body ground.

  • Is there continuity?

Yes

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:

  • Without discharge headlight system

    • Front combination light (LH) terminal C—Front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J

    • Front combination light (RH) terminal C—Front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J

  • With discharge headlight system

    • Front combination light (LH) terminal D—Front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J

    • Front combination light (RH) terminal D—Front body control module (FBCM) terminal 1J

If there is a common connector:
  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

If there is no common connector:
  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.

Go to Step 10.

No

Without discharge headlight system

  • Go to Step 10.

With discharge headlight system

  • Go to the next step.

8

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY PARKING LIGHT (LH) MALFUNCTION

Yes

Replace the front combination light (LH), then go to the next step.

(See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to Step 11.

9

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY PARKING LIGHT (RH) MALFUNCTION

Yes

Replace the front combination light (RH), then go to the next step.

(See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to Step 11.

10

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

Go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

11

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM)].)
