Communication error with PCM (no response or data mis-match)

Detection condition

• Start stop unit detects a communication error (no response or immobilizer system cancel not possible) with the PCM.

• The immobilizer system-related parts have not been programmed when replacing the PCM or start stop unit.

• Perform the start stop unit replacement and programming due to simultaneous replacement of start stop unit/PCM.

• Clear the DTC for the immobilizer system using the M-MDS.

  (See CLEARING DTC [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].)

• Retrieve the immobilizer system DTCs using the M-MDS.

  (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].)

• Is the security indicator light: 16, DTC U0100:87/P1260:00 displayed?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 4.

• Clear the DTC for the immobilizer system using the M-MDS.

  (See CLEARING DTC [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].)

• Retrieve the immobilizer system DTCs using the M-MDS.

  (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].)

• Is the security indicator light: 16, DTC U0100:87/P1260:00 displayed?

Yes

Replace the start stop unit, then go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 4.

• Retrieve the immobilizer system DTCs using the M-MDS.

• Is the security indicator light: 16, DTC U0100:87/P1260:00 displayed?

Yes

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

• Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
