1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)
3. Disconnect the steering shift switch wiring harness connector.
4. Remove the column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Using a precision flathead screwdriver, release the tab.
6. Measure the continuity between steering shift switch wiring harness connector terminals A—B and terminals D—E.Up switch
