WATER PUMP [SKYACTIV-G 2.5]

Purpose, Function

• The water pump operates by obtaining drive force from the engine via the drive belt to pump engine coolant.

Construction

• The water pump is installed to the front of the engine.

  

• The water pump consists of the following parts:

  

• A hard plastic shroud impeller has been adopted to the impeller. As a result, leakage loss from the front and back surfaces of the impeller is reduced and the pump efficiency is improved.

  

Operation

1. The water pump pulley rotates by obtaining drive force from the engine via the drive belt.

2. The impeller with the water pump pulley and shaft connected rotates to pump engine coolant.
