NOTE:
Fogging or condensation on the inside of the trunk lid light may occur, however, it is a natural phenomenon occurring as a result of a temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the trunk lid lights and has no effect on the light performance. Fogging or condensation will dissipate when the temperature inside the trunk lid lights rises after illuminating the back-up lights and a period of time has elapsed.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the trunk lid trim. (See TRUNK LID TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the trunk lid garnish. (See TRUNK LID GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Disconnect the connectors.
5. Remove the nut.
6. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the service hole in the position shown in the figure.
7. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure to detach the service hole cover tab from the bracket.
8. Pull out the service hole cover in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure and pull out the service hole cover hook from the bracket.
9. Remove the service hole cover.
10. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the clearance between bracket tab A and the trunk lid light shown in the figure.
11. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the figure to press tab A, and pull the bracket in the direction of arrow (4) to detach tab A from the trunk lid light.
12. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the clearance between bracket tab B and the trunk lid light shown in the figure.
13. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (5) shown in the figure to press tab B, and pull the bracket in the direction of arrow (6) to detach tab B from the trunk lid light.
14. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the clearance between bracket tab C and the trunk lid light shown in the figure.
15. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (7) shown in the figure to press tab C, and pull the bracket in the direction of arrow (8) to detach tab C from the trunk lid light.
16. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the clearance between bracket tab D and the trunk lid light shown in the figure.
17. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (9) shown in the figure to press tab D, and pull the bracket in the direction of arrow (10) to detach tab D from the trunk lid light.
18. Remove the bracket.
19. To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.CAUTION:
When the trunk lid light is removed from the trunk lid, perform the procedure after affixing protective tape to the trunk lid. Otherwise, the trunk lid could interfere with the trunk lid light and cause scratching or damage to the trunk lid.
20. Move the trunk lid light in the direction of the arrow (11) shown in the figure to pull out the hook from the trunk lid.
21. Pull the trunk lid light in the direction of the arrow (12) shown in the figure and pull out the pins and stud bolt from the trunk lid.CAUTION:
If the trunk lid light is removed from the trunk lid, the trunk lid light may fall off and be damaged. When removing the trunk lid light from the trunk lid, hold the trunk lid light on the lens side with a hand during the servicing.
22. Remove the trunk lid light.
23. Install in the reverse order of removal.
