2014 - Mazda6 - Body and Accessories

THEFT-DETERRENT HORN INSPECTION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Trunk side pocket (RH) (See TRUNK SIDE POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Pull back the trunk side trim (RH) to a position which allows for the removal of the theft-deterrent horn. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the theft-deterrent horn. (See THEFT-DETERRENT HORN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Apply battery positive voltage to horn terminal A, and connect the horn retaining bolt to ground as shown in the figure, and then verify that the horn sounds.
