SEAT WARMER UNIT INSPECTION

WARNING:

CAUTION:

Driver-Side

Seat cushion side
1. Switch the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min. or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Inspect for continuity between the seat warmer unit connector terminal 5C and 5D.

5. Measure the temperature around the thermostat.

NOTE:

6. Measure the resistance between the seat warmer unit connector terminals 5A and 5B, records with the surrounding temperature of the thermostat measured beforehand.
7. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
8. Connect the seat warmer unit connector.
9. Switch the seat warmer switch to the Lo position and warm the seat.
10. Measure the resistance between the seat warmer unit connector terminals 5A and 5B, and record it.
11. Switch the seat warmer switch to the High position and warm the seat.
12. Measure the resistance between the seat warmer unit connector terminals 5A and 5B, it is confirmed that there is a change from the resistance recorded beforehand.
Seat back side
1. Switch the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min. or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Inspect for continuity between the seat warmer unit connector (short code) terminals A and B.

Passenger-Side

Seat cushion side
1. Switch the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min. or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Inspect for continuity between the seat warmer unit connector (short code) terminals G and H.

5. Measure the temperature around the thermostat.

NOTE:

6. Measure the resistance between the seat warmer unit connector terminals D and F, records with the surrounding temperature of the thermostat measured beforehand.
7. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
8. Connect the seat warmer unit connector.
9. Switch the seat warmer switch to the Lo position and warm the seat.
10. Measure the resistance between the seat warmer unit connector terminals D and F, and record it.
11. Switch the seat warmer switch to the High position and warm the seat.
12. Measure the resistance between the seat warmer unit connector terminals D and F, it is confirmed that there is a change from the resistance recorded beforehand.
Seat back side
1. Switch the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min. or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Inspect for continuity between the seat warmer unit connector (short code) terminals A and B.
