2014 - Mazda6 - Body and Accessories

WINDSHIELD REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Cover (See FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Forward sensing camera (FSC) Short-cord (with high beam control (HBC) system) (See FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) SHORT-CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Forward sensing camera (FSC) (with high beam control (HBC) system) (See FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
f. Forward sensing camera (FSC) clip (with high beam control (HBC) system) (See FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) CLIP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
g. Rain sensor (with auto light/wiper system) (See RAIN SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
h. Laser sensor (with smart city brake support (SCBS)) (See LASER SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
i. Auto-dimming mirror (with auto-dimming mirror) (See AUTO-DIMMING MIRROR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
j. Rearview mirror (without auto-dimming mirror) (See REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
k. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
l. Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
m. Front map light (See MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
n. Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Set the headliner out of the way.
4. Apply protective tape along the edge of the body.

NOTE:

5. Remove the windshield molding by pulling it outward.

NOTE:

Not Reusing Windshield

WARNING:

  1. Using piano wire with bare hands can cause injury. Always wear gloves when using piano wire.

NOTE:

1. Cut out the sealant all around the glass using a sealant remover.

2. Remove the windshield.

Reusing Windshield

WARNING:

  1. Using piano wire with bare hands can cause injury. Always wear gloves when using piano wire.

CAUTION:

NOTE:

1. Avoiding the pin on the inside of the vehicle, insert piano wire which has been cut to sufficient length.

2. Wind each end of piano wire around a bar.

NOTE:

3. Secure one end of piano wire, and while pulling the other end, cut the sealant around the windshield.

4. Pinch the pin from the inside of the vehicle and detach it.
5. Remove the windshield.
6. If the pin is damaged, remove the pin.
