DTC B00C1:93 [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]

System malfunction location

  • Seat weight sensor (LR) communication error

Detection condition

WARNING:

  • Detection conditions are for understanding the DTC outline before performing an inspection. Performing an inspection according to only the detection conditions may cause injury due to an operating error, or damage the system. When performing an inspection, always follow the inspection procedure.

  • Seat weight sensor (LR) malfunction is detected

Fail-safe

Not applicable

Possible cause

  • Seat weight sensor (LR) connector malfunction

  • Seat weight sensor control module connector malfunction

  • Short circuit to power supply or body ground in the wiring harness between seat weight sensor control module and seat weight sensor (LR)

  • Open circuit in the wiring harness between seat weight sensor control module and seat weight sensor (LR)

  • Seat weight sensor (LR) malfunction

  • Seat weight sensor control module malfunction

  • SAS control module malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Action

1

INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONNECTOR
  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

  • Disconnect the seat weight sensor (LR) connector.

  • Inspect the seat weight sensor (LR) connector terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).

  • Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Replace the malfunctioning part, then go to Step 4.

No

Go to the next step.

2

INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR
  • Disconnect seat weight sensor control module connector.

  • Inspect the seat weight sensor control module connector terminal for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).

  • Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Replace the malfunctioning part, then go to Step 4.

No

Go to the next step.

3

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE AND SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR
  • Inspect the wiring harness between seat weight sensor control module and seat weight sensor for short to ground, short to power supply, and open circuit:

    • Seat weight sensor (LR)
    • 1E—C

    • 1F—B

    • 1I—A

NOTE:

  • Inspect for continuity while shaking the wiring harness between the seat weight sensor control module and seat weight sensor.

  • Is the wiring harness normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between seat weight sensor control module terminal and seat weight sensor terminal.

If there is a common connector:
  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness.

  • Replace the malfunctioning part.

If there is no common connector:
  • Replace the wiring harness.

Go to the next step.

4

PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION

Yes

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

5

INSPECT PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM

Yes

Replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
