DTC U0428:62 [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)]

DTC

U0428:62

DSC HU/CM cannot determine the steering angle neutral position

DETECTION CONDITION

  • While the vehicle is driven at 20 km/h or faster, the DSC HU/CM cannot determine the steering angle neutral position for 2 min or more.

NOTE:

  • Each time the ignition is switched ON, the DSC HU/CM calculates the steering angle neutral position based on the signals from each sensor and each module.

  • If the vehicle is driven as follows just after the engine is started, DTC U0428:62 may be output.

    • Vehicle is accelerated rapidly while being steered right or left

    • Vehicle is driven on abnormal road surface such as banked road

    • Vehicle is driven on continuously curved road such as mountain road

  • If the DTC is a past malfunction during DTC inspection, it does not indicate a vehicle malfunction.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

  • Illuminates the TCS/DSC indicator light and master warning light*1.

  • Inhibits the TCS, DSC, Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC)*2, and smart city brake support (SCBS)*2 controls.

NOTE:

  • If the DSC HU/CM determines the steering angle neutral position after DTC U0428:62 is detected, the TCS/DSC indicator light and master warning light*1 are turned off.

*1: Vehicles with Smart City Brake Support (SCBS).

*2: If equipped.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Vehicle is driven just after engine is started (in this case, vehicle is not malfunctioning)

    • Vehicle is accelerated rapidly while being steered right or left

    • Vehicle is driven on abnormal road surface such as banked road

    • Vehicle is driven on continuously curved road such as mountain road

  • Each sensor, module signal error caused by rough-road driving

  • Poor connection at connectors (female terminal)
